On 12 September 2012, we had the honor to have four well-respected professionals leading the discussion around the topic of fund management from both legal and financial perspectives. Mr. Michael Burns, Partner from McMillan LLP commenced the seminar by introducing the Recent Trends in Canadian Investment Funds in which he specified on inbound flow from China. Followed Mr. Burns, Mr. Marco Sze, Director from BMI Appraisals explained the accounting aspect and valuation of a fund from the financial perspective. Furthermore, Ms. Lora Yip, Senior Legal Advisor from Value Partners and Ms. Ann Ng, Partner from Maples and Calder explained the fund structure & composition, and the Cayman Island offshore set up & structure respectively.
